This New York Times article on Facebook groups for parents of college students got us chatting about whether these groups are a good idea for kids, parents, and us specifically (Nicole says Nope! but Catherine's keeping an open mind.)

On this week's Roundabout Roundup: Terri's loving Taylor Swift's latest album (music collection? bunch o' songs?), Lover. Catherine approves of the redesign of the Infinite Campus parent portal. And Nicole enjoys following the British royals on Instagram at KensingtonRoyal (William and Kate) and SussexRoyal (Harry and Meghan).
Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear on every episode.
Terri has found the ultimate stool—er, tool—for thoroughly embarrassing her children. And she's sharing it with all of us!
Nicole is reeling from a string of unexpected, untimely bills, giving us a reason to complain about unnecessary emergency-room visits, overly thorough car mechanics, and other surprise hits to our budgets.
On our entertainment-themed Round 2 this week, there was so much dancing on So You Think You Can Dance. Yep, we think these kids can dance! The top 4 proved it by doing about a dozen routines each (or so it seemed).
On The West Wing, we jumped ahead of the West Wing Weekly podcast to discuss the episode "Undecideds," which we decided we liked a lot more than the previous debate episode. Next week, there will be so much dancing that there will be no room for a West Wing. We'll watch the SYTYCD finale and the debut of the latest season of Dancing with the Stars.
We follow up last week's food fight chat with more on WW (formerly known as WeightWatchers): How it works (or doesn't) for us, how it could be improved, and how in the world they thought "WW for kids" was a good idea.
On this week's Roundabout Roundup: Nicole shouts out the Ikea bags beloved at college move-in time. Catherine's enjoying The Chef's Line on Netflix , and Terri tells us more about our new podcast home on Spreaker.
Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear on every episode.
We try to set our kids up for success, one storage bin and phone alarm at a time. But they don't always appreciate (or, let's face it: notice) our efforts.
We complain about how hard it is for people with different priorities, preferences, and metabolisms to share a kitchen.
On our entertainment-themed Round 2 this week, there was much dancing as the SYTYCD Top 6 showed off their stuff alongside several all-stars, including one of our faves, Gaby. Alas, Gaby's duet with Ezra wasn't enough to save him, and he and Madison were cut.
In happier news, we read Linda Holmes's debut novel, Evvie Drake Starts Over, and found it just as charming as we'd hoped it would be. Next week, it's the SYTYCD Top 4. On West Wing, we're skipping the live debate episode and its accompanying West Wing Weekly podcast episodes (way, way too many talking heads) and jumping to season 7's "Undecideds." |
