On this week’s Roundabout Roundup: Catherine recommends a graphic-novel style illustrated memoir called The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui. Nicole's trying a new treat, SmartSweets' low-carb, low-sugar gummy candies. And Terri suggests you follow The Dodo on social media for heartwarming animal videos (plus she predicts one they'll definitely post in the near future).
Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear on every episode.

We have a love/hate relationship with the parent portal, that online peek into our kids' school. Some of us want more information (a lot more) and some of us want to live in blissful ignorance.
This week we are visiting the Minor Annoyances Division of the Complaint Department, with stops at old favorites like bad customer service, weird website designs, and actual insects. Mentioned: screamintothevoid.com. And an update: The pink "like" button on Facebook was a temporary change in honor of Mother's Day. These three mothers give that an eyeroll emoji.
On this week's entertainment-themed Round 2, we said goodbye to Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, season 2, with (almost) everyone in a pretty happy place. Since season 3 isn't a done deal yet, we can live with that.
And to take away the sting of losing Zoey's song-and-dance numbers, we watched the first four episodes of Girls5Eva, a new original series on Peacock that is incredibly silly and a lot of fun. Next week, we'll watch the remaining four episodes. We'll also tiptoe back toward Neptune, California, with three episodes of the Veronica Mars Investigations podcast: Season 4 Pitches, The Thousand Dollar Tan Line, and Mr. Kiss and Tell.
We step back and take a look at what we admire about our kids, including their humor, resilience, and loyalty. We'd be proud of them even if it wasn't part of our job description.
On Speed-Round Sunday, we share a mini episode from our past for your weekend listening pleasure.
Having talked about things growing indoors last week, we move to the wild outdoors to see if Catherine and Terri can at least make things grow in the yard and if Nicole can rise above her houseplant trauma and join the scorpions and tarantulas for some gardening.
On Second-Listen Saturday, we share moments from past episodes for your weekend listening pleasure.
Is it ever okay for parents to luxuriate in first class while their kiddos are back in the cheap seats with strangers? We make the judgment call. Want more? Listen to the rest of this July 2018 episode.
On this week’s Roundabout Roundup: Nicole has found the softest, fuzziest warm blanket. Terri's doing some post-Mother's Day shopping for herself at The Shop Forward, and Catherine's experimenting with newfound curly hair using Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Defining Lotion. Mentioned: Sherry at Young House Love.
Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear on every episode.
You can get a themed collection of just about anything delivered to you on a regular basis these days. But so far we haven't found boxes especially for old people, hungry expat Canadians, or podcasters. Get on that, marketers. Mentioned: Sips By teas and Cost Plus World Market.
Terri's son's employer offers some useful benefits to part-timers. As this mom gig we have means way more than full-time hours, we'd like to see some better benefits in our contracts too.
