Nicole is obsessing about how to stay close to her daughter, who's away at university, while Catherine anticipates that looming departure. (Terri, meanwhile, would like to disconnect just a little.)

After listening to a Freakonomics podcast episode on high school math, we took on the topic as well, asking whether the current curriculum really serves kids' needs today and for their future.
On Dancing with the Stars, we saw 20 minutes of dancing amid two hours of Disney promos and lots of faffing-about filler. And then nobody was eliminated!
The Good Place's "Chillaxing" gave us more Chidi (yay!) but also more worries about what the Bad Place demons might be plotting (boo). Mentioned: The Good Place podcast. Next week: Dancing with the Stars Week 6, "Tinker, Tailor, Demon, Spy" on The Good Place, and "Duck and Cover" on The West Wing.
A HuffPo article on the sometimes unsung benefits of parenting had us reminiscing about naps, yoga pants, Arthur the aardvark, and dining out with toddlers (really).
On this week's Roundabout Roundup: Catherine wouldn't have survived the past week without Signup Genius. Nicole found yet another sarcastic Instagram account to follow: satiregram. And Terri enjoyed many, many delicious treats at the Nourished Festival in Secaucus, New Jersey. Here's her blog post, and some highlights:
Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear on every episode.
Sometimes as a parent, you accidentally raise your hand at precisely the wrong time, and then you find yourself in charge of catering six meals for 130 hungry high school students.
On Wednesdays we complain, and this week our target is care packages for kids away at college or camp. Turns out, we are not the kind of moms who care enough send care packages.
On Dancing with the Stars, there was no advertised theme, but we declared it "Songs Inappropriate for the Dance Night." We're still backing James, Kate, and Lauren as we roll into Disney Night next week.
On The Good Place, we hope the gang is starting to get their groove back. Mentioned: The Good Place Podcast. Next up: "Chillaxing." On The West Wing, we enjoyed "Internal Displacement," an episode that featured Will Bailey as comic relief and the return of Danny Concannon (yay!). Next: We'll take a week off to catch up with the West Wing Weekly podcast.
After we read the viral post about how an Apple Watch can call 911 if it detects a "hard fall," we came up with plenty of times and places a parenting-themed feature like this could come in handy. (Mentioned: Teen driver technology... that already exists!)
On this week's Roundabout Roundup: Terri's enjoying Lauren Alaina's new single, "Getting Good" (and Lauren on Dancing with the Stars). Catherine found a new option for photo gifts called CanvasChamp. And Nicole's laughing at Rob Lowe on Instagram--or rather, his sons' sarcastic comments there. Another funny celeb follow: Jennifer Garner.
