For today’s grab bag selections, we have an important conversation from earlier this year on … um … Kim Kardashian’s bathroom, plus an emotional look at our favorite … emojis. Yeah, we’re a little goofy this week. Hope you can use a little of that today.

We’ll be back next week to chat about the whole season of Making It, along with the West Wing episode “Requiem.” Meanwhile, we pulled a couple of entertainment-related episodes out of our grab bag for today: a discussion of our relative merit in a zombie apocalypse and a brainstorming of parenting-related horror movie concepts inspired, back in April of 2018, by the movie A Quiet Place.
Last week we talked about releasing ourselves from unrealistic expectations and going for good-enough. Thanks to some unexpected travel and computer crises, our good-enough this week is a grab bag of past conversations that we found particularly silly and goofy and perfect for listening to again at this stressful time of year. On today’s episode, we chat about irrational anger, our pets’ home-security skillz and a discarded muffin dilemma.
On Speed-Round Sunday, we share a mini episode from our past for your weekend listening pleasure.
From high cliffs to dark forests to a scene right out of a suspense movie, we share some scary spots we've found ourselves in.
On Second-Listen Saturday, we share some fun moments from past episodes for your weekend listening pleasure.
We've all had success with picking the issues we want to focus on with our kids, sure, of course we have. But when spouses choose different battles, kids get in on the action, and we can't even win the fights we choose to engage in, things get complicated. Want more? Listen to the rest of this August 2016 episode. Roundabout Roundup: Nathan for You, SkinnyPop Gingerbread Cookie Kettle Corn, Olive Garden to Go12/6/2019
On this week’s Roundabout Roundup, Nicole's binge-watching Nathan for You on Comedy Central, while Catherine enjoys SkinnyPop's seasonal kettle corn (gingerbread cookie flavor!) and Terri shouts out Olive Garden to Go.
Thanks as always to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear on every episode.
After complaining yesterday about obligatory holiday traditions, today we obsess about what makes a holiday good enough for our families (or, really, ourselves).
A post at Scary Mommy got us thinking about all the holiday stuff we once did--or did once, and decided that was plenty. Turns out we're pretty good at pruning out unhappy seasonal obligations. Ho ho ho!
What We're Watching: Making It “What Are You Made Of” and West Wing “Election Day, Part 2”12/3/2019
On this week's entertainment-themed Round 2, Making It is back for a second season (well, a two-week "event"), and we're still all in, because Nick Offerman! Amy Poehler! Overalls! Lovely people making lovely things! We recommend following all of the makers on Instagram.
Meanwhile, over on The West Wing, things are both very sad and very happy all at once in "Election Day, Part 2." The campaign is over, and we are perilously close to the end of our time with the show too. Next week, we'll watch West Wing's "Requiem" and discuss Making It's first week of episodes (through Monday, December 9).
A post on the blog Grown and Flown got us thinking about our real Christmas wish lists, full of things you'll never find at the mall or in Santa's workshop.
