Many kids (and teens and young adults) that we know are obsessed with AirPods, Apple's pricey wireless earbuds. Some are lucky enough to have their own. But how long will it be before they're eaten by the sofa cushions?

Kids complain when they don't get a snow day. Parents complain when they do AND when they don't. This is why we don't want to be the snow-day decision-makers.
On our entertainment-themed Round 2, The West Wing tugged at our feelings in a sappy way ("The Dover Test"), while The Good Place did so in a much more heartbreaking season-ender ("Pandemonium").
For next week, we'll watch West Wing's "A Change Is Gonna Come." And since The Good Place is now on hiatus until autumn, we'll turn to another Mike Schur-iverse show and watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine's "Safe House" (season 5, episode 12, available on Hulu).
Apparently college reveal parties (and godmother proposals) are a thing? Today we're talking about the extra-ness of it all, and why you shouldn't be tempted to tempt fate like this.
On this week's Roundabout Roundup: Catherine's tracking her family with the Life360 app, Nicole's giggling at Old School Dads (and Moms) on Instagram, and Terri found a simple solution to a painful problem. Plus, a special shout-out to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear every day of the week. Thanks, Jon! We got our skin care and beauty advice from Seventeen magazine, and our daughters get it from YouTube. Because they definitely don't want to hear it from us. Happy birthday to Nicole's daughter, who just turned 18! Who know that meant she was supposed to be a fully functioning, 100% independent adult overnight? On our entertainment-themed Round 2, it's a missable episode of The West Wing, as Josh fails to understand the Internet yet again and the writers fail to live up to the snappy dialogue standards of Aaron Sorkin. On The Good Place, you would think a trip to the Interdimensional Hole of Pancakes would be plenty of material for one episode, but you'd be wrong! Next week: "Pandemonium" on The Good Place (uh-oh) and "The Dover Test" on The West Wing (ho-hum). The latest study on screen time and its evils left us sighing and justifying our lack of limits. Since we can't seem to cut back on our own use, it's hardly fair to make our kids go screen-free, is it? (Mentioned: teen calls police when dad takes away cell phone.) On the Roundabout Roundup this week: Catherine solved a hair problem she didn't know she had; Terri found a better way to see a concert; and Nicole cleaned up with OfferUp and LetGo. Plus, a special shout-out to Jon Morin for our fun in-and-out music, which you hear every day of the week. Thanks, Jon! |
